Introduction and Overview

This week, we will give you an overview of what Observation Checklists are and how they are used by learners and observers. Next week, we will go into more detail about all the different possibilities they provide and how they are created and managed.

What is an Observation Checklist

The idea behind Observation Checklists is that it is not always enough for learners to have completed the formal training. They also need to have shown they master the subject matter in real life. An Observation Checklist makes it possible for a person filling out the Observation Checklist - called the observe - to answer questions about the learner's behavior and to attest the learner has shown he or she master the subject matter in real life.
