Will it be possible to restrict the values in the Status field on the Service Request object based on roles or BU?

A new BU is going live in our existing system. This BU has separate layouts and LOVs for SR statuses. We would like to know the possibility of restricting the LOVs on the status field, such that one set of SR Status LOVs will not be visible to other BU.
