Separation of Duties related to Budgetary Control

Oracle offers 32 pre-built access controls that use our pre-built Enter Journals entitlement.

In release 23C, we’ve removed two privileges from that entitlement: Check Funds (XCC_CHECK_FUNDS_PRIV) and Reserve Funds (XCC_RESERVE_FUNDS_PRIV) because:

  • The privileges apply to Journal Entry only if Budgetary Control is enabled. If you haven’t enabled Budgetary Control, the access controls return irrelevant results.
  • Neither Check Funds nor Reserve Funds by itself is sufficient to enter a journal. One must have Enter Journal, Check Funds, and Reserve Funds.

Call to Action:

  • If your access controls use that entitlement, but you haven’t enabled Budgetary Control, consider removing Check Funds and Reserve Funds privileges from the entitlement.

Howdy, Stranger!
