OSMS: No OS Management Information Available For This Resource

Applies To:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later

Oracle Linux 7 x86_64 and later

Symptoms:

OSMS shows error "No OS Management Information Available for This Resource".

Changes:

New instances unable to see OSMS information

Cause:

A process is using up OSMS port (9003).

$ netstat | grep 9003
tcp6       0      0 :::9003                 :::*                    LISTEN      3503       67543197   3206275/jstart        
off (0.00/0/0)
$

In this example a jstart process is using port 9003 which blocks OSMS.

Solution:

There are 2 options:

1. One option is to change the jstart process to listen on some other port. This needs validation from the application or middleware team.
2. If the first option is not feasible, then the 2nd option would be to switch port
