Desktop Agent : Deny duplicate phone numbers in contact

Hello,
I am trying to deny the creation of a new contact that has the same phone of another one via the desktop agent, i know that the system won't allow you to create a new contact if the e-mail already exists. How can i do it also for the phone number? is there a specific setting that needs to be enabled in the agent ? or via a script in the event handler? if yes, please specify the key word needed to search in the documentation,
