how to click a button to make a REST call in agent desktop console

HI, Guys,


I have a function need implement in the agent desktop console.

when a contact open, the agent need able to click a button to invoke a 3rd party REST API, how can I do that?


what I have thought is use the customer workpace and use the Javascript API

is this the correct way, or is there any better way.
