Append email sent via campaign to contact

I am trying to use the Campaign tool, so that on creation of an outbound email, this is then attached to the contact.

I don't see a way to do this within the tool.  I am aware this can be done through past experience through an non out the box customisation.  I'm keen to avoid this if possible!

So, I use Campaign 'A', via the Upload Wizard to email  I want to be able to see the email sent to attached to the contact record, or if push came to shove, the content of the email in a note on the contact.  Is there a way to do this?
