Workspace addin not filling its container.

So I have a few workspace addins that display data grids. Despite the addins having their attributes set to auto size and dock = fill the addins in the workspace still only seem to take part of the screen width. This is causing unneeded scrolling in the grid and presents an unpleasant ui on large monitors. Has anyone found any other settings that need to be set on the .net UI in order to get it to actually fill?
