Incident thread missing from mailings

We have a mailing that is sent by firing the incident business rules.

The mailing includes the incident thread which worked until recently but now the mailing sends and the incident thread no longer shows.

I've noticed in the 'source' tab on the mailing all the incident thread types are set to "display: none", I've tried changing this to 'inline' but no success, anyone have any ideas what could be stopping this from showing?
