Add-in to export contact data to text file

Hi All - I am wanting to create an add-in button on a contact workspace that will export some data fields (e.g. address) about the contact to a text file to be saved on the users Desktop (for the purposes of using in an MS Word Mail Merge).

Can anyone suggest how this might be achieved? Is there a built-in function that will export RN data to a text file?
