Date stored in custom object returns wrong date

Hi,

I have a custom object and a custom field which is a date. In the workspace, this date is displayed as 29/08/2017

However when doing ROQL or using Connect Object Explorer, it comes back as 2017-08-28Z. It always comes back as the day before.

Any ideas?
