Global Ribbon Button add-in -> Is it possible to change the text / Image on the button dynamically

Hello experts,

We have a custom Fill my Inbox solution (It basically pulls the cases that fall in a queue associated to an Agent). Customer wants to display the dynamic count of the cases, as part of the label/text in Global Ribbon. It should be okay, even if we can manage by changing the image ( maybe from green color icon to red color icon and vice versa). Not sure if it is possible to change the text / image in the button of Global Ribbon add-in.  Just want to check here to see if anyone has similar experience before.
