Set date field in incident equal to date field in Task

As part of our business requirements I need to make sure that when a user completes a task and fills in a required date field (tasks.c$date) which is NOT necessarily "today's date", that this date is also written in the incident as incident.c$date.

Workspace rules and Workflow rules are limited to setting incident.c$date to an absolute value, a previous value plus a date and time or an offset of the current date and time.

How can this be done? Could business rules allow what I need?
