I want to have a custom object or custom field identified as "unique" in Oracle Service Cloud that is not the email address. Is it possible to define an alternate field that can be designated as "unique" in the CRM database?  If so - how do you approach this customization?

We work with 37 colleges and universities in the Minnesota State system and I'd like the "StarID" to be designated as a unique identifier within a contact record so that in the database only one starID would exist.
