Enable smart text on a custom text field

Summary:

We have created a couple of custom AppUIs for some of our more complex help desk forms. As part of that we've had to create our own custom Detailed Description / Problem Description text fields.

Our contact center extensively uses smart text to help ensure they're capturing data in uniform ways but are unable to use them on these two new UIs.

Is there a way to enable smart text for those new fields?
