Customer Portal account as an IDP
Can Customer Portal account be used as an IDP or, if not, are there any plans to do so?
Service Cloud functionality has grown over the years to not only be a "customer contact" application but rather a main CRM system for many companies. Where that is the case it will hold a large set of customer data and so it would make sense that the online, self-service functionality for those customers would primarily be delivered by Customer Portal and that their primary customer account would also be this one. However, if we have a smaller line-of-business application that requires an account (as all online applications appear to do now) then in order to achieve SSO we need to use an
