Products/Categority visibility effect on Answers

Hi guys,

I recently encountered a scenario where the answers were not visible on customer portal because of enabling end-user visibility on some answers. I referred to Answer ID 1648: "Finding answers that are public, but are not on the end-user pages". I had to disable end-user visibility on all answers in order to have the answers available on customer portal. However, we would like to expose some products/categories on the customer portal and we can't do this without enabling the end-user visibility. Has anyone faced such a situation/requirement? Any ideas on how one can workaround this?
