Using function "Selection Field" in Rich Text Editor of Knowledge Advanced

In rich text editor a function "Selection Field" is selectable. Using it it seems a filter can be created in a text block. But I have no idea how to use this. I am looking for an option to filter in a table like possible in Excel. Can anyone advice? Maybe a small example how the function "Selection Field" is ment to be used, would also help.
