Alias List - How does your office use it?

Hello all - 

We are contemplating use of the Alias list in Oracle.  We want our customers to find answers in the easiest way possible.  Currently, we use the Alias list, but we would like to hear pros or cons on adding more to it.  Is it possible to add too much?  Can too many slow down searches?  Does your office add every possible alias?  We are using the keyword search report to find what customers are searching for with 0 results.

For example, if we have answers with the word "Address" in them, but multiple customers are searching for "adress" and not pulling up the answers with "Address" in them. If we add 'adress' to the Alias list, will this affect the weighting of the answers?
