Knowledge Advanced content can be indexed in Knowledge Foundation?

Hello Experts,
As per our PoC use case , need to index the KA content in KF (External search configuration) to get the specific content type answers on KF customer Portal.
Now I want to know the feasibility of this and what can be the Pros and Cons ? I know Knowledge Advanced has quite good indexing mechanism but not sure about KF.
