Managing customer lifecycle in Service Cloud

Hi - I am keen to hear from any fellow OSvC customers who have implemented some form of Customer 'lifecycle management' in Service Cloud . For example, different service levels - Gold, Silver and Bronze - or routing/segmenting customers based on whether they are new or at risk of cancelling or becoming disengaged. I am keen to hear if there is any out-of-the-box functionality around this or if others have built something customised. Thanks, David
