We are facing the "/etc" directory access restricted issue across multiple sites. Basically the "/etc" directory used to keep some of the configuration files OR site certificates OR private keys.

As per our knowledge, the directory access permission got changed from the 16.8 product version due to PHP upgrade. It might be affected the "/etc" directory as well, so we don't have read permission of those important configuration files.

We would like to know, is there any other similar kind of directory available to keep these configuration files in the latest version(18A)? What is the best practice to manage the configuration files which has the user credentials?
