Can I create queues for tasks?

I just searched the forum for "queue" and noticed that everything seems to be related to incidents and/or chats.  I was curious if anyone is using the queue functionality for tasks as well (or if this is possible)?  I briefly looked through the business rules but couldn't really tell.

Are there any pros/cons of using tasks with queues? 

The reason I ask is that most of our incidents require multiple people performing separate actions all at the same time.  We believe that these are "tasks" but we want to make sure that each dept can see a queue of tasks.
