Which triggers first - Business Rules or Workspace Rules

Hi All,
Long back when I worked on Visual Basic, we had a sequence in which things happen/trigger. In Service Cloud, do we have any such sequence ? Would a Business rule get triggered first of a Workspace rule get triggered first or depending on individual scenario, either of them could trigger first .
Can someone explain me this with an example please ?
