disabled accounts appearing in assignment field?

Has anyone else experienced this recently? We didn't noticed this behavior before our recent Auto Upgrade to the May release.
All of our disabled staff accounts, from what I can see, are appearing in the assignment field. I was even able to save an incident assigned to a staff member whose account has been disabled for nearly 2 years. I am 99.9% sure this is a newly introduced bug, not present before migrating.
Just wondering if we're just bizarrely unlucky, or if this has happened to other sites as well.
