Hackergarten is a craftmen's workshop, classroom, a laboratory, a social circle, a writing group, a playground. Our goal is to create something that others can use; whether it be working software, improved documentation, or better educational materials. Our intent is to end each meeting with a patch or similar contribution submitted to an open and public project. Membership is open to anyone willing to contribute their time.
Dates: June 28–31, 2016
Location: Hackergarten will be at the Java Hub, JavaOne/OpenWorld exhibit hall.
At JavaOne Brasil 2016 in Sao Paulo, the Hackergarten has a dedicated space. We will have power, a private Internet network, white boards, and seating for up to 10 people.
Attendees just need to bring their laptops. They may stay as long as they want, from less than hour to most of the two days. The format remains the same as other Hackergartens. Participants will contribute to open source projects.
Topics may include Java EE 8, Java SE 8 (Lambdas and Date & Time API), Money & Currency API, Units of Measurement API/Internet of Things/Wearables, JavaFX, OpenJDK and more.
