How to Search in the Community

Version 8

There are several different ways to find what you are looking for in the community. Review the options below to help you search for the things that matter most to you.

    Use the "Ask" Widget

The "Ask" widget is available in most My Oracle Support Community sub-spaces. This allows you to quickly ask a question in that specific sub-space.  After you begin typing in a question into the Ask widget, the search function displays similar asked questions and possible answers based on matching keywords. You can click on any of the similar asked questions, or, if you do not see the correct answer in the results list, you can create a new discussion directly from the widget.

The spotlight search is a quick way to find people, places, or content by using keywords.

    1. Click the magnifying glass in the upper right corner.
    2. By simply clicking on the magnifying glass, a list of suggested content, places, and people will populate. These suggestions are based off of your frequently viewed items, or items that are similarly related to your past visits within the community.

    3. If you want to search for something specific, type in a keyword. Content, people and places related to your keyword will populate in the drop down menu.  If what you are looking for is listed within the drop down results, click on it.
