NOTE Check with your instructor. If the Old_Build was used in making this VM then you'll need to follow the steps below. Else do nothing!
Inside the VM, open up a Terminal window. The two steps below are to double check that only a single backed-up copy of the full build is not lying around (the 2nd command below should return an error)
ls -la ~/sources/jdk8_tl/build/linux-amd64_backup ls -la ~/sources/jdk8_tl/build/linux-amd64
Then execute the following. The make sanity step checks that the environment variables are all OK, you'll see Sanity check passed. upon success. TheexecutePartialBuild.sh script executes a build with warning flags on and pipes output to a file called build.log.
cd ~/sources/jdk8_tl/jdk/make make sanity make clean ./executePartialBuild.sh tail -f build.log
When the build is finished, you should see something similar to:
Done Processing SUBDIRS: tools java javax sun com org sunw jpda mkdemo mksample launchers linux i586 1.8.0-internal build finished: 12-04-21 19:08
Then copy the log for later reference:
cp build.log build.log.original
