Track how contacts were unsubscribed in Eloqua

Contacts can be unsubscribed several ways in Eloqua; through the preference center, manual list uploads, CRM integrations, modifying a contact record, through programs, etc. With the introduction of GDPR, it’s become increasingly important that we be able to track how someone was unsubscribed and there’s not a way to do this in Eloqua. The only one we can somewhat track is submitting the preference center form, but the form submission activity log is eventually removed from Eloqua due to Eloqua’s data retention policy. We’d like the source of all unsubscribes to be tracked in Eloqua, and ideally be something we can segment on. This seems to be a common topic in Topliners, but no one has found a solution.
