Validation to Input CNF Paper, Wood, Fabric, Formulation Details
CNF Spec Formulation Reminder.
When a CNF specification uses fabric, formulated, paper or wood as a component, there is a separate tab in the Components section for the supplier to input further details about this material, including its features and specification. If this information in the relevant tab is not completed, a validation error occurs and the spec cannot progress. However, there is no other indicator that the supplier needs to input this additional info into a separate tab. Furthermore, the supplier has to 'add' an item once in this tab, so it is not 100% clear that they have to take action. Our experience is that suppliers often miss this section and this can delay spec progression. Our suggestion would be for there to be some sort of generated message or reminder for the supplier to go into these tabs and input the additional formulation info, and make it clearer that this is mandatory, before the specification validation stage.
