Description: We are requesting a significant upgrade to the filtering engine within Xadmin, specifically for Dashboards, Reports, and the POSLog Viewer. The enhancements should include:

Dashboards & Reports: Implementation of flexible date ranges (not just fixed periods), the ability to filter by store groups/regions, and a multi-select picklist for individual stores.

  • POSLog Viewer: Addition of advanced search parameters, most notably the ability to filter by "Transaction Type" (e.g., Sales, Returns, Post-Voids, No Sales) and other header-level attributes.

Business problem: Currently, the filtering capabilities in Xadmin are too restrictive for efficient data analysis and operational oversight:

  • Dashboards: The inability to select specific date ranges or store groups prevents regional managers from performing side-by-side comparisons. This forces users to export data to external tools, creating a fragmented workflow.
  • POSLog Viewer: The current search process for POSLogs is highly inefficient and excessively manual. Because we cannot filter by transaction type, technical team must manually sift through hundreds of logs to identify specific events. This lack of precision leads to wasted labor hours and delays in identifying critical issues.

Business benefits:

  • Increased Productivity: Reduces the time spent on manual data sorting, allowing teams to focus on high-value analysis.
  • Improved Audit Accuracy: Enables Loss Prevention and Audit teams to instantly isolate high-risk transaction types, reducing the risk of human error.
  • Faster Troubleshooting: Technical support can resolve store-level issues more quickly by filtering out irrelevant transaction noise in the POSLog viewer.

Use case: When investigating a failed integration for a specific "Retail sale" transaction, support staff must scroll through a store's entire daily traffic to find the specific log entry, which is highly impractical in high-volume environments.
