    Oracle 32 on Windows  64

      I'm new in Oracle.

Today i see that a client have a Oracle 10g 32 bit installed on Windows 64 bit.
He say me that oracle is not increase memory, and when it try with value close to 3,5 GB, the oracle give a error.

I think that the fact of Oracle is 32 bit, it not accept more memory ...

I think use AWE, beacause de Server Machine have 22GB of RAM...

My doubt is: AEW in this case is solution ? The machine and OS is 64, but only Oracle not... (This is possible ?)

          Welcome to the forum,

It is not clear for me if you talk about oracle client only....
But if yes. You should use 64 bit 11gR2 oracle client no matter if your database is 10g only.

Or you can try to migrate your database to [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10201winx64soft-090882.html]Oracle Database 10g Release 2 ( Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows (x64)

Or use AWE see [url http://www.dba-oracle.com/oracle_tips_ram_waste.htm]here
