Stream replication configuration through Cloud Control: ORA-12547: TNS:lost

    Dan Scott Guest

I'm trying to configure stream replication from 'server1' to 'server2'. I have created 'stradmin' users and stream_tbs tablespaces on both servers using 'Cloud Control'.

I can tnsping and connect from server1 to server2, and from server2 to server1 on the command line, i.e:
      [oracle@server1 ~]$ tnsping DB2.SERVER2.EXAMPLE.COM
TNS Ping Utility for Linux: Version - Production on 06-FEB-2012 14:06:39

      Used parameter files:
Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias
      Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = server2.example.com)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = db2.server2.example.com)))
      OK (0 msec)
      [oracle@tesla ~]$ sqlplus stradmin@DB2.SERVER2.EXAMPLE.COM

      Enter password:
      Connected to:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
And the reverse (connecting from server2 to server1 works the same way.

When I try to configure stream replication using Cloud Control, I am able to configure a job to start the replication, but when it runs, I get the following:
      SQL> SQL> SQL> Executing ..
      SQL> connect STRADMIN/******
      SQL> ERROR:
      ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact
      Error from SQLPLUS: 3
Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?
