Hi,

I am stuck in installation of forms 11g configaration.The setup is unable to create domain.I have searched the internet but not find the solution.My log file description is below:

    Hi,

    This is one of the most common places to get an install error during an 11g Forms Installation. There are a variety of issues that can cause this specific error, however 99% of them are a quick fix. Typically the issue is either the installer can't indeed create the domain OR it created the domain and it can't startup the AdminServer. If you can, please provide responses below, i can quickly narrow down the issue.

    Questions for you:
    1.) What WLS version and Forms Software Version (and Patche(s) if applicable) have you installed?
    2.) Can you tell me in short what steps you did?
    3.) Can you provide System Specs? (OS, CPU Type, RAM, HDD Freespace).
    4.) During an installation, the Oracle Installer logs to both a .out and .log file. The .out is generally the most descriptive on errors. Can you post the entire .out file?
    5.) Can you find out if your domain directory was created? By default domains are stored in "%Middleware_Home%/user_projects/domains". If a domain was created, please use a command-line utility, navigate to your domain home directory (ex: %MW_HOME%/user_projects/domains/%domain_name%), then run the following command: startWebLogic. if it crashes and fails, let me know.

    Right now potential causes can be:
    1.) If Node Manager Windows is installed and running, this can cause a failure on creating domain. Verify if Node Manager is installed in your Windows Services. If it is, shut it down and 'retry' creating the domain. If Node Manager is not installed, ignore this.

    2.) Verify port 7001 is not being blocked by a firewall and verify if no other domains or processes are already listening on port 7001

    3.) A lot of times, the installer simply can't startup the AdminServer during this step (Starting up AdminServer is one of last activities the installer does). On 32-bit systems, the most common issue is JVM Heap allocation - if you are already using JDK 6, I'd recommend to use JRockit which comes with the weblogic 32-bit installer. For 64-bit Systems however, this most common issue has to do with "Program Files (x86)" entries in the PATH environment variable. Removing these from the PATH varaible, resolves this. If your domain has already been technically created on the filesystem and you're getting domain creation error, try manually starting up the AdminServer. If this script fails, this is the reason why you're getting the "domain creation" error.

    4.) Incorrect Forms Software version was installed on top of WebLogic. The following software version combinations are certified by Oracle.
    WLS 10.3.2 -> Forms 11.1.1.2
    WLS 10.3.3 -> Forms 11.1.1.3
    WLS 10.3.4 -> Forms 11.1.1.4
    WLS 10.3.5 -> Forms 11.1.2

    5.) Unsupported JDK Version

    This is all a lot at once, let me know if you need any clarifications. Hope this helps.

    Thank you,

    Gavin

    I have first installed weblogic server 10.3.5 then i start my adminserver and connect through web which works perfectly fine.Then i installed middleware forms 11g. the installation completed 100 percent but fails to create domain.You tell me to check .out file which shows that the server successfully connected also my wls domain directory i created is default.During installation my server is already started.

    Hi,

    Theres' a lot of false positives given by Oracle Installer in the front end. Can you please post the entire install log "out" file? This will answer a lot of questions on whats going on.

    Just to clarify the steps you did:

    1.) You installed WLS 10.3.5

    2.) The part that isn't correct is when you do the following: +"then i start my adminserver and connect through web which works perfectly fine"+

    No WebLogic Domains or Servers should be created or started/running as this point of the install. Please make sure all domains and servers are shutdown before you begin installing forms.

    3.) Then after you started an adminserver, you installed forms.

    Thank you,

    Gavin

    Again, please make sure that when you are installing, Node Manager is shutdown before installing forms. This is the most common cause of the issue.

    I have some questions that i asked earlier, can you please answer these?

    Can you tell me what exact version of forms you're installing? (11.1.1.2, 11.1.1.3, 11.1.1.4, or 11.1.2)

    Can you also tell me what JDK you installed when installing WebLogic Server?

    Also, is this a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows installation? (Which version of windows?)

    When you get the error in the installer, can you please check the file system for two directory parths? There will be a Middleware home directory (MW_HOME). Go to your %MW_HOME%/user_projects/domains/%WebLogic_Domain_Name% directory. Can you please verify for me the following details?
    - If this directory exists: "%MW_HOME%/user_projects/domains/%WebLogic_Domain_Name%"
    - If this directory exists: "%MW_HOME%/user_projects/domains/%WebLogic_Domain_Name%/servers/AdminServer".

    Thank you,

    Hi,

    First of all i thank you for your helping .

    Next the answers of your questions are

    1. I have installed forms 11g version 11.1.1.2

    2. The jdk is weblogic default version jdk160_24.

    3. The windows is 32 bit.

    Furthermore, i think there is no problem with node manager because the above log shows that port 5556 is available.

    The log file also shows that warning.

    [2012-02-15T14:13:45.416+05:00] [as] [WARNING] [] [oracle.as.provisioning] [tid: 20] [ecid: 0000JM0GUqR3FCw70FyWMF1FEqxk00000B,0] CSF Entries will not be parsed since the AdminServer is unreachable

    Hi,

    No problem, glad to be helping.

    There are two problems i foresee now:

    1.) Most important Issue: Forms 11.1.1.2 (Forms 11gR1) is not supported to run on WLS 10.3.5. The only release that is supported or certified to run on WLS 10.3.5, is Forms 11.1.2 (Forms 11gR2). I would first download Forms 11gR2, uninstall everything, then re-install. Please review my first reply in your thread, i listed the supported WebLogic Server and Forms versions.

    2.) Regardless, of what the log says, Node Manager must be shutdown during the Forms 11g Install. Take it from me, i've done many 11g Forms installs on every type of supported platform, Node Manager should never be running during a forms install. Sometimes, it will introduce the strangest issues.

    Thank you,

    Gavin

    thank you , you have identifed the corretly version problem.now doamins create successfully but fails to restart WLS-REPORTS (last process) and also fails to in EA Agent process.

    Good to hear we're making progress!

    For WLS_REPORTS Issue, if the installation is still there on the machine, can you try manually restart WLS_REPORTS? You can do this by going to "%Middleware_Home%/user_projects/domains/%Domain_Name%/bin/" directory. Then run the following commands from command line:

    stopManagedWebLogic WLS_REPORTS
    startManagedWebLogic WLS_REPORTS

    If the server starts successfully into "RUNNING MODE", then i wouldnt worry about this error. If you get any errors, can you post the error?

    For the EM Agent, there are a couple issues, can you post the error that is located in the installation "out" file?

    Thank you,

    Gavin

    Gavin --
    Based upon your post, I decided to investigate my spinning installation. By going to the MiddlewareHome\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain directory and starting the weblogic server, I discovered that the traditional jdk wasn't working.

    I removed everything and re-installed WLS 10.3.5 on my Windows XP workstation. This time I chose JRockit JVM and I was able to complete the configuration task.

    I may have done something unnatural while waiting for the Create Domain step to complete. Again, I went to the command line and changed to the MiddlewareHome\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain directory. I ran startWeblogic.cmd and let it continue running while the installer progressed through the remaining steps.

    Success!

    I hope I can repeat this on another platform.

    Thanks so much!
