i'd like to know how to restore the newest incremental backup on the duplicate machine?

thanks for your respond. so here's the scenario:
1. my production database will be copied to new server in another country.
2. after shutting down the source database, database will be copied into one image.
3. after that the source database will be started again, and the incremental backup will run.If the image copy which you took in step 2) is the OS copy then you cannot recover with incremental backup of RMAN...
4. after the image being copied in another country already setup, i need to recover the database from the incremental backup that still exist on the first machine.
how can i restore the newest incremental backup?Remember as CKPT said, you can only appy incremental backups on top of Full RMAN backups. If full RMAN backup doesn't exists then you cannot do the recovery with only having incremental backup
can i just run recover..until time.. command?
jdimastn wrote:Yes, you can perform recovery with incrementals.
hi 909592 ,
yes, that would be OS image copy. and of course i have full RMAN backup inside of the image copy.
so in the new server, there will be the original database including full RMAN backup inside.
let say after 3 days, the incremental backup will be sent to new server to be restored later.
do you think it's possible?
