          Thanks,

Hi Jeff, have you ever been able to solve this problem? I am having the same problem with 10gR2 on Windows.

            Thanks.

Did you consider to apply latest patch? 10.1.3 is not really up to date version.
10.1.4 is first 10g stable version of database.

10.1.4 and up is recomended version for 10gR1 Streams.
9.2.0.5 and up is recomended version for 9i Streams.

              Regards,

                  Hmm,
I think open TAR would be right way to resolve this issue.

                        Hello,

                        The error means the following

ORA-16081: insufficient number of processes for APPLY
Cause: Logical standby apply engine was started with fewer processes available than needed.

Action: Increase the values of the initialization parameters PROCESSES and and PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS, or the MAX_SLAVES parameter seen in the DBA_LOGSTDBY_PARAMETERS view.

More than likely you do not have PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS set to a high enough value. You will need to check the current value and increase it to a more appropriate value. The healthcheck report in Metalink Note 273674.1 is useful in checking your Streams setup and listing the parameters which are important in a Streams environment.

                        Thanks
                        Peter

DBA_LOGSTDBY_PARAMETERS should has nothing to do with streams, it is for logical standby database

                            Hi,

may be the issue is solved, but I have just faced this issue; the solution has been brought by Support Note [ID 1085283.1]
"The ORA-10388 is not really an error. It is being used as a signal by the coordinator process to terminate the slaves as quickly as possible on shutdown immediate. We do not see the ORA-10388 errors being reported on a normal stop_apply."

                            Regards
