You might want to look at Oracle 11g Streams for DBMS_COMPARISON.
DataGuard vs Stream / Advanced Replication
Data guard vs Streams vs GoldenGate", version 188.8.131.52
What's the difference between Active Data Guard , Golden Gate and Streams ?Active dataguar option even comes with enterprise edition, it's an image copy of primary/production database.
Goldengate is a third party tool where you can replicate between heterogeneous databases like oracle to SQL server or any other.
Streams is a replication, you can refresh data using streams.
These all three topics cover under replication
But which feature you want to use , depends on cost and critical I can say.
what best practices for DR & reporting in EBS ?You can use physical standby with active dataguard option, it's feature of 11g.
EBS not support active Data Guard (Logical Standby)This question is not feasible. I mean logical standby database is itself for reporting. Still what active dataguard you looking for?
Active dataguard is option of physical standby where database can be opended to perform read operations & also recovery will be in progress. In case of logical standby even earlier releases it will be used as reporting purpose.
thanks for clarification ,
EBS not support active Data Guard (Logical Standby)
In the doc,
Business Continuity for Oracle E-Business Release 12 Using Oracle 11g Physical Standby Database [ID 1070033.1]
Note: Logical standby databases are not supported with Oracle E-Business Suite standard functionality.
SQL>alter database recover managed standby database cancel;
SQL>alter database open read only;
how I can use STBY database in reporting while it is in mount mode?
also may be I am confused but How I made standby Database in reporting ?
regards & thanks
