BP02 in OIM 11.1.1.5.0 Post Check

    878145
      Hello experts,

We have upgraded OIM 11.1.1.5.0 by applying BP02 patch. But after sucessfully executing all the steps below

      1. Running latest Opatch
      2. Applying SOA patch 13106312
      3. Applied OIM patch 13399365
      4. Running patch_weblogic.sh

We could n't able to see any significant change in XSD table or in About page. Still OIM version it shows as 11.1.1.5.0.
We could able to login to OIM and perform all operation.

Please advise where we are going wrong.

      Thanks,
      DK

If you go to the patch file /opt/oracle/middleware/oracle_idm/server/setup/deploy-files/patch-weblogic.log , you'll be able to see the patch log and see if it patched successfully. The About Page, and XSD don't quite change as you would expect. It will continue to say 11.1.1.5 there.

There are no errors in patch log. And XSD table reads like this and in About page also version is 11.1.1.5.0.

            XL_BUILD_NUMBER     11.1.1.5.0.0.0
            XL_ENCRYPTED     TRUE
            XL_BUILD     0.0
            XL_PATCH_BASE     11.1.1.5.0
            XL_PATCHLEVEL     5.0
            XL_BRANCH_NAME     1
            XL_ADE_LABEL     IAM_11.1.1.5.0_GENERIC_110418.0500

My assumption was it will change to 11.1.1.5.2 ? Will it be ? Then what sanity test i can peform to check upgrade is successful ?

No, it won't change to that. Here is a sample i have:

              XL_BUILD_NUMBER     11.1.1.5.0.0.0
              XL_ENCRYPTED     TRUE
              XL_BUILD     0.0
              XL_PATCH_BASE     11.1.1.5.0
              XL_PATCHLEVEL     5.0
              XL_BRANCH_NAME     1
              XL_ADE_LABEL     IAM_11.1.1.5.0_GENERIC_110418.0500

You can assume the patch is there by checking the opatch and log file for validation.

Thanks Kevein for the info. Is there any quick test case that you would suggest so that i can try that in the upgraded environment (After BP02) and compare it with non-upgraded (11.1.1.5.0) to make sure all are fine ?

opatch will give you the details about the patch you applied. As for BP2 and 11.1.1.5.0, one quick way would be to look at the system properties of OIM. BP2 has some new ones added. If you see those one, then you can be sure to some point that you have got the patch applied. Additionally, there are some good fixes in BP02, so look out for them and test those scenarios in both the env.
As for making it sure that all is fine, you can have the Diagnostic Dashboard and validate the installation/configuration from there.

                    Try below test case.

Change any attribute in trusted source which is present in OIM and run Trusted recon scheduled task. Respective changes should trigger to coressponding RO

Above wasn't working with 11.1.1.5 Solution given in patch BP02

                    --nayan

                      Thanks Bikash and Nayan.

@ Bikash : I could able to see few system properties added after upgrade. Will try with diagnostic dashboard option too.

@Nayan : Do you mean to say without clicking 'create reconciliation profile' in RO the scenario will work after modifying or adding some attribute in RO after upgrade ?

Guys can you suggest few other test cases too for our confirmation ?

So I suppose that patch no. 13399365 has been installed. But in system configuration parameters, from the admin console, I'm not able to see the new system property SkipRequestJustificationStep.

                        Could anyone help me please?

                        Very thank you in advance.

                        Giuseppe.
