My Prod DB 'PROD' is 11gR2 RAC environment in HP-UX.
I want to create another database 'TEST' from this 'PROD' in a windows environment.
I may use RMAN convert utility to build a new database in windows.
After creating the 'TEST' database, can i use the archive logs generated in 'PROD' in 'TEST' database ?
Whether is it a correct way to refresh database across different platforms?
I suggest you to go to below MOS note which will tell is it possible for this combination?
Data Guard Support for Heterogeneous Primary and Physical Standbys in Same Data Guard Configuration [ID 413484.1]
Data Guard Support for Heterogeneous Primary and Logical Standbys in Same Data Guard Configuration [ID 1085687.1]
You need to get the platform_id and then check if that ID is supported according to above note. But i dont think it will be possible in your case i.e
Hp-UX and Windows.

1) Golden Gate (For real replication)
2) Transportable tablespace
