    Calculating checksum...

    920046
      Hello everyone,
      I downloaded Oracle database 11g.
I have two zip files win64_11gR2_database_1of2.zip and win64_11gR2_database_2of2.zip
I want to calculate the checksum for for the above files. How can i calculate that?

I am using Windows 7 64 bit OS.

Now i am thinking checksum is only need for Unix and Linux but not for Windows.
            Am i correct?

But any how if i want to check it. How can i check?
I tried in internet and found Cobynsoft's Hash Calculator and it asks me which algorithm i want to use MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 etc., and if i selected any of them the result is above 20 characters. But in Oracle's website the checksum value is only 10 characters.

So which algorithm i need to select to calculate checksum?

You can find MD5 and SHA-1 digests at https://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/ViewDigest/get_form?epack_part_number=B64899-01

For using a checksum tool, please see these links:

What do you mean? Please elaborate more.

                    C:\app\Boopalan-7UNa\product\11.2.0\client_1\sqlplus.exe

In the above location the file sqlplus.exe is exists. But it don't have any icon. Simply a rectangle is there.
Except that everything is working fine.

But in previous versions sqlplus.exe has a icon which is like in this link.

sqlplus.exe should be under the bin directory, so look under C:\app\Boopalan-7UNa\product\11.2.0\client_1\bin

Sorry, in bin directory i have only few files and don't have sqlplus.exe file.

sqlplus.exe is under client_1 directory only.

                        Thanks for your helpfulness.

SQLPlusW.exe - Graphical Interface is deprecated. The command-line tool still exists -- SQLPLUSW.exe Not supplied with 11g

I don't know why you are replying with irrelevant answers.

                            I didn't say anything about SQLPlusW.exe

I am talking about sqlplus.exe only. It don't have any icon. Only small blank rectangle is there.

                            It may be a bug.

I do not think any of my replies is irrelevant and you should at least be thankful that we respond to your queries.

It is not a bug, and the icon you see is the correct one. From the command prompt, navigate to the directory and issue sqlplus.exe and you should be able to run it properly (assuming you did the installation successfully).

If you still insist to have an icon (which does not really make any sense or does not even stop you from using sqlplus.exe) then refer to http://www.williamrobertson.net/documents/sqlplus-setup.html which is mentioned in the thread posted in my previous reply.
