    PD - PY Refresh

    user392378
      Trying to do a PD to PY Refresh taking PD:
      PD Production JDE DB on Oracle 10.2.0.2 DB/AIX 5.3
      PY Development JDE DB on Oracle 10.2.0.2 DB/AIX 5.3

      New to this JDE environment.

      Any best practices? Docs? URL's?

      Currently Dropping Constraints/Indexes and IMP into from EXP from Production.

      However, in test Table, dropped constraint/index and import did not bring in.

      EXPort Parameter File:

      BUFFER=10485760
      FILE=$OEXP/exp_Date.dmp
      OWNER=(UName1, UName2)
      CONSISTENT=Y
      GRANTS=Y
      ROWS=N
      INDEXES=Y
      CONSTRAINTS=Y
      COMPRESS=Y
      LOG=$OEXP/exp_Date.log

      IMPort Parameter File:

      BUFFER=1048576
      FILE=$OEXP/exp_Date.dmp
      FROMUSER=(Uname1, UName2)
      TOUSER=(Uname1, UName2)
      #IGNORE=Y
      #CONSISTENT=n
      GRANTS=N
      ROWS=N
      INDEXES=Y
      CONSTRAINTS=Y
      #COMPRESS=Y
      FULL=N
      LOG=$OEXP/imp_Date.log

      Errors:
      IMP-00015: following statement failed because the object already exists:
      Import terminated successfully with warnings.

      However, looking for the indexes and constraints, they are not there.

      Thanks in advance for comments/replies!

          FULL=N

          uncomment ignore=y and proceed with import. Any reason why not using oracle database pump export and import?

            That is an excellent question...my response is, that is the way the former DBA ran it.

            I am new to this environment 2 months. I would like to switch, any great recommendations?

              Actually we ran into an issue as we were only trying to import in the INDEXES and CONSTRAINTS, however, we were pulling STATISTICS as well.

              We added "STATISTICS=NONE" on both the EXP/IMP Parameter file to resolve this issue.

              This also, sped up IMP/EXP times, shrunk the size of .dmp file, etc.

              Recommend this, as it was helpful (my boss is brilliant).

                Here's the final results - in case you run into in the future.

                EXPort.par

                BUFFER=10485760
                FILE=$OEXP/exp_date.dmp
                OWNER=(UName1, UName1)
                CONSISTENT=N
                GRANTS=Y
                ROWS=N
                INDEXES=Y
                CONSTRAINTS=Y
                STATISTICS=NONE
                COMPRESS=Y
                LOG=$OEXP/exp_date.log

                IMPort.par

                BUFFER=10485760
                FROMUSER=(UName1, UName1)
                TOUSER=(UName1, UName1)
                IGNORE=Y
                FILE=$OEXP/exp_date.dmp
                FULL=N
                GRANTS=Y
                ROWS=N
                INDEXES=Y
                CONSTRAINTS=Y
                STATISTICS=NONE
                LOG=$OEXP/exp_date.log

                Hope this helpful!
