Run your application with developer toolbar(*press F12*) and see if you can find something

These is the output i see..Dont know wether the first line is creating the trouble..
The trouble i face is only Chrome ...

Try YSlow google chrome plugin to it if it suggests any
Hi Cherukuri that was information to me... that tool i mea+n..This is the output..
This page has 3 external stylesheets. Try combining them into one.
This page has 12 external background images. Try combining them with CSS sprites.
Seems this should be what i should be doing...
Any thing else or any other tips let me know.. ..I was thinking in line of some security settings of chrome
which could be resulting in decreased speed....I just checked in internet explorer the performance was excellent..
I think i will reinstall chrome and check..

I am not aware of any known issue on google chrome, but you can try this http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=113910
In chrome i was addressing the machine using localhost:portnumber
I changed it to 127.0.0.1:portnumber
and now the application in chrome too runs fast..
Earlier when i used to try in firefox..i was trying the ip address as 127.0.0.1 ..
