using goldengate as the cdc adaptor for informatica realtime edition

any exprience, best pratice to use oracle golden gate replication solution as a direct feed to to the informatica etl realtime edition ( instead of the informatica power exchange listener product). any drawbacks, issues (e.g. complex configuration, reduced feature set) using such a configuration? using a combination of informatica etl tool und goldengate cdc feeder would result in smaller costs due to current license agreements of my enterprise.
      thx felix

It's possible to use GG to capture changes from a database and then use the GG Java (JMS) adapter to send these changes (inserts, updates, deletes) as JMS messages to feed the ETL tool. Or even the GG flat-file writer might work, but some scripting would be necessary to handle the file exchange.

In general you would likely want to enable supplemental logging on the source DB for all columns that you require "before" values, so that these are available in the jms messages. The messages can be XML, using any format you want, or map messages. You just configure informatica to parse these messages back into tables.
