      FYI
      --------
As per oracle doc i have installed the linux with default installation (not customized)..
The prerequisites for the Oracle DB 11.2.0.1 was installed properly..
I have installed the prerequisites using oracle-validated package (yum install oracle-validated)

During the installation process also the prerequisites check completed normal. After completed 95% i got the an error.

(I have installed the Oracle DB 11.2.0.1 successfully in an another machine using the same way as i told above)

Please give us your valuable suggestions.

      Thanks for your help.

The only difference between the two machine(The problematic and the successfully installed machine) is

AMD Phenom (tm) II x2 560 Processor

            Intel core2duo

            (both are 32-bit)

If your hardware is 64-bit, then I believe this is a known bug - pl see this MOS Doc

But i have checked my hardware architecture is 34-bit only.

32-bit perhaps, but definitely NOT 34-bit!

                              Hi sb92075 ,

U r right.when i check using this command uname -a in *(Guest OS)*

                              Linux desktop1.example.com 2.6.18-8.el5 #1 SMP Fri Jan 26 14:15:21 EST 2007 i686 athlon i386

But i check in Host OS (Windows 7) using CPU Z s/w

The instructions shows it is a x86-64.

So now the workaround for this issue i have to apply the patch.

Thanks all for u valuable replies.

Applying the patch to a 32-bit OS makes little sense - you will be applying the patch to the guest OS (linux), not to the host OS (Win)
