I am not sure if 10.1.3.5 is certified with 22.214.171.124, I thought it would probably be at least 10.1.3.6+ and it is usually advisable to be running later patches.
The common connection issues with the RMI are down to firewall port problems, it is also worth checking that the RMI is definitely listening on that port because starting it up doesn't always guarantee it is fully up and running.

I have succesfully installed ODI 10.1.3.6.0 but the problem still remains.
Regarding the port, I've checked the file:

So I think the port is correct...

Have you checked that the RMI is running and listening on 11333 say with netstat, are there any firewalls in place, any additions in the hosts file.1 person found this helpful
Eventually we installed ODI 11g and now everything seems to work fine.
