    Start the database and the database listener:

    $ addlnctl.sh start <LISTENER NAME>
    $ addbctl.sh start

    Start the application services: adstrtal.sh apps/<apps password>

    Are you running the script from the directory where the shell script exists? If yes, issue:

    $ ./addlnctl.sh start VIS

    Thanks,

    The path is: $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/scripts/<CONTEXT_NAME>

    Please note that this is already mentioned in the doc, so please read the section of starting/stopping services before asking questions.

    Thanks,

    Is it fine with the 1st command or not? How to resolve the issue of the 2nd?

    [HuaMin@localhost VIS_localhost]$ ./addlnctl.sh start VIS

    You are running addlnctl.sh version 120.1.12010000.2

    Logfile: /u01/OracleEBS/VIS/db/tech_st/11.1.0/appsutil/log/VIS_localhost/addlnctl.txt

    Starting listener process VIS ...

    addlnctl.sh: exiting with status 127

    [HuaMin@localhost VIS_localhost]$ ./addbctl.sh start

    You are running addbctl.sh version 120.1

    Starting the database VIS ...

    sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: /u01/OracleEBS/VIS/db/tech_st/11.1.0/lib/libnnz11.so: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied

    addbctl.sh: exiting with status 127

    Many Thanks & Best Regards

    Check the log file "addlnctl.txt" for details about the error.

    Pl identify the Unix account that you are logged in to when executing these scripts. If you have a two user install (typically oracle and applmgr), then you need to run addlnctl.sh and addbctl.sh using the oracle account. This is clearly described in the documentation.

    Good day Hussein,
    Good day Hua.

    Please see these docs.

    Starting 10gr2 TNS Listener Yields TNS-12541, Linux Error: 111: Connection Refused [ID 343295.1]
    R11i: adalnctl.sh fails to startup a cloned Instance - LSNRCTL shows 'Connection refused' [ID 1355564.1]
    Should the DB be started before anything? How to do that?
    You do not need to start the database before starting the database listener.

    Please note that using localhost/localdomain is not a good practice.

    Thanks,
    Hussein

    I did use the same login by which I installed EBS with a success.

    If you start the database and the database listener using oracle account (which is the owner of the database tier files) then there is nothing wrong that. Please review the docs referenced in my previous reply. Also, please post the contents of the /etc/hosts file.

    Thanks,
    Hussein

    Hussein,
    Regarding this extract
    2. Check that the localhost loopback name and address are correct (both long and short host names).
    An example of a correct localhost entry would be as follows:

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

    from “Starting 10gr2 TNS Listener Yields TNS-12541, Linux Error: 111: Connection Refused [ID 343295.1]”

    I see there is only one line within /etc/hosts file below
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40211031/t45.png

    why do I get the issue with addlnctl.sh?

    Many Thanks & Best Regards

    The locahost.localdomain entry is not recommended to do Oracle EBS installation and you will need to have another entry for the actual IP Address as well as the <hostname>.<domain name> as mentioned in the docs.

    Thanks,
    Hussein
