please read the following troubleshooting item
The logs should provide you more info on the error.
try using with domain name
kinit -V administrator@SUNVDI.LOCAL
d'accord. All my settings in Oracle VDI are
username@FQDN not username alone.
so e.g kerb-ldap-tech-user@YOURCOMPANY.COM if YOURCOMPANY.COM is your Windows Domain (not DNS).
I am in the same situation and have tried everything. I am using VDI 3.4 and able to authenticate using knit command but cannot setup up my company.
AD is 2011 Small Business Server and the domain is domain.local
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Problem is fixed. It was related to time server and raising the forest functional level. ntpdate adserver.addomain.local needs to work.
Thanks for all the help
