I am at a loss to understand why anyone would use DataPump to export something sized so large that it could fail after 600GB.
If I was doing something that large and needed an export I would set the tablespace to readonly and export a transportable tablespace which would only take a few minutes.
But I expect about 99.9% of the time I would want to use RMAN.
Can you explain why you are taking the export the way you are and how it is going to be used that is leading you to do this? Perhaps then we can help you.
We have been using expdp to export smaller databases so we though it might work for the large one as well.
I am a newbee so didn't know the capability of RMAN, I look into it but it would be great if you can send pointers to the RMAN backup/restore to a different server.
