    Friendly URL

    785434
Does anyone know if web centre sites has a friendly url's option? noticed that when installing web centre sites there is an option to install a pretty url, but I can't seem to find anything that reflects this option when using the CMS?

If this is some sort of miss-understanding on my part and the only option that we have is the GSF plug in (I have not used this before). Does anyone know where I can find step by step instructions on how to install this for web centre sites?

The step by step instructions on the below won't work as all the links to download scripts etc are all broken.

For the GSF take a look here: http://www.gst-foundation.org/ (there's even a step-by-step walk-through video for installing).

I believe there are 'URLAssemblers' which provide vanity and SEO friendly type URLs.... I'm not sure personally if this is the approach you need to take or if there is something OOTB however (I'm still learning myself).

          Cheers

Thank you for that, but does not seem to be ready for web centre sites.

            I'm getting the following exception:

[fatwire.logging.cs.jsp] The absolute uri: http://gst.fatwire.com/foundation/tags/gsf cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application for pagename=GST/Foundation/Dashboard&ft_ss=false
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://gst.fatwire.com/foundation/tags/gsf cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application
                 at org.apache.jasper.compiler.DefaultErrorHandler.jspError(DefaultErrorHandler.java:51)
                 at org.apache.jasper.compiler.ErrorDispatcher.dispatch(ErrorDispatcher.java:409)

Does anyone know how I can get around this?

The issue is resolved and GSF installed successfully on web centre sites 11g.

The reason that it did not work before was simple, the library file was that I copied over to tomcat was somehow corrupted during the download, when I re-downloaded and copied it across the GSF plug in started up fine..

                Hi,

                Glad it's installed successfully.

Can anyone comment on the correct/best practise approach of friendly URLs.... Reading the documentation found on the GSF site (v1.0) it discusses Tuckey.

Is this the best approach or are there alternatives?

                Cheers,

                Darren
