I have created a check box items as mentioned below.
Label#Check Only One:
Label# (empty filed nothing mentioned)
STATIC2:Non Strategic;Non Strategic
They need to check either any one of them, while selected how do we capture and insert into databse..
If your page have already Form items save process then include Source of the table column into the Check box.
if not write your own plsql process to store the Check box value into the table column.
What you want exactly from 2 checkbox's seperately even if the check box option providing multiple values to display in single item? any specific reason?
My idea is to wrok around like this, but in process can we check the item name.checked value ?
else if itennametwo.checked
The main idea is to insert checked values into a table with "Y". I back end we have two columns separtely one is BAU and SEU. As in my previous mail i told that if they select any one it showld insert into corresponding columns. But in process how i can i know which one they have selected, because in page view source i am able to see only value as 0,1,2 and sonon..
If you have 4 checkboxes with values 1,2,3,4 and you selected 1,2and 4 then the sesion value of apex checkbox item will be 1:2:4.
So in PLSQL you can do instr of the apex item to match with your values.
instr(:PX_ITEM_NAME,1) > 0 will return true if 1 is checked, else false
instr(:PX_ITEM_NAME,2) > 0 will return true if 2 is checked, else false
instr(:PX_ITEM_NAME,3) > 0 will return true if 3 is checked, else false
If it was me, I would:
- Use one single radio button item instead of 2 check boxes
- Have both actual database columns in the form as protected hidden items
- Use computations to populate the hidden items above based on the radio button value
- Let Apex default row processing do the rest
